The hardest post I never thought I'd have to write

I woke up this morning, excited to spend another snow day curled up by the fire with my Christmas present (a Kindle!). Instead, I received tragic news that my stepdad died. It's difficult to process, considering we just saw him at Christmas, which is when I told him the next time I saw him he would be a grandparent. It's hard to admit, but considering my mom has never been in the greatest health, we never expected Dennis to go first. And now, the hardest part is knowing how difficult it is going to be for my mom to live without him.
