Weekly Wednesday update 34/40
How far along? 34 weeks
Sleep? No comment.
Best moment this week? Only gaining 2lbs since my last appointment.
Movement: Squishy has now decided that nighttime is the right time to play DDR on my ribcage.
Food cravings: Ice. I guess this is my way of preparing for only getting ice chips during labor?
Belly button in or out? Still in, but the inside is becoming flush so if I push my stomach out, it looks like a volcano.
What I miss? Considering it's been sleep for the last thousand weeks, I'm guessing you probably know what I'm going to say to this!
What I am looking forward to? Our couple's shower this weekend! My wonderful friend Tanya is hosting it and I'm also excited for Brittany & Eric to come down, especially so we can finally meet baby Alli! And we're also having maternity pictures taken tomorrow by the incredible Caroline Ghetes. Even though I feel like a big, fat cow & I would rather not have further documentation of my massive weight gain, I know a time will come where I will look back and think positively on the miracle that is pregnancy...or at least that's what I tell myself with every discovery of a new stretchmark.
Milestones: Squishy's fat layers are filling out & his/her skin is smoother than ever. The central nervous system is maturing and lungs are continuing to mature as well. A bit of good news- babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies. (Not like I'm prepared for Squishy to come yet, but it's good to know he/she would be OK.)
What I'm nervous about: Not knowing when I'm going to go into labor. I hate not knowing when it's going to happen, and I'm convinced every time I leave the house that my water is going to break in the grocery store.
