As we come into the final lap of Squishy's race to join our wolfpack, things are coming together nicely...the nursery is essentially finished. We'll be adding some custom artwork when the Squish arrives, but all the furniture and major gear (stroller, car seat and pack & play) are ready and in place.
As Momma G mentioned, we learned all about proper latch technique, feeding cues, timelines and the overall feeding process at our breastfeeding class earlier in the week. I encouraged Gena to take good notes, mainly so Squishy could enjoy his/her first days on earth on a full stomach. I don’t know about you guys, but there are very few amazing moments in my life that haven’t involved food and/or haven’t been enjoyed on a full stomach of said food :)
And as Mommy B so eloquently put it, ensuring Momma G is able to produce sufficient resources for Squishy during milk production mode while still protecting her future “baby production mode” capabilities, is definitely an important consideration for proper feeding technique as well. Dad E knows what I’m talkin’ bout’ ;) !!!
Speaking of the Meibers clan…Mommy B “cook my eggs on a stove please”, Dad E “if you don’t have Budweiser I’ll take a Millwuh”, Baby Alli “My baby blues put Sinatra’s to shame” and Scar “I don’t even know you and I love you” Little are coming up for the weekend to join in the festivities at the first ever Charlotte couples baby shower (ok, maybe not the first ever); hosted by our good friends Tanya “I bleed garnet & gold, FSU for life” and her husband Ryan “I love the Patriots and my cooking makes your mom look like the amateur she is” Gaspar. It’s gonna be an awesome weekend people :) !!!
Come on Papa Rob, you know I'm not a big Millwuh fan... but my family is from Germany. From Germany?!
ReplyDeleteHaha, well both Budweiser and Millwuh drink pretty good, don't it? And besides, the only person that should be calling you Dad "Mighty Arrow" E is Mommy B.
ReplyDeleteRob, you are hilarious! can you come up with a name in quotes for me and neal?? (without it being about vegan, that was kind of 3 years ago.. just sayin) ;)
ReplyDeleteHere ya go Michele:
ReplyDeleteMichele "I just brought someone back from the dead, what did you do today?" and Neal "I taught Michael Phelps everything he knows"
Thanks for the teether and the baby gate btw :) Also, if Neal's clothes-hanging ability is any indication of his future parenting skills, he's gonna be a great dad.
we are absolutely cracking up over here! Love the names! :) hehehehe
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Mighty Arrow - you'll notice on the label there is a picture of a dog who appears to be bolting out the front door. Much like the way Scarlett "I have just met you, and I LOVE you" did on Saturday night... I'm just glad she came running right back.
