A letter to my full-term fetus

Dear Squishy,

You are now 37 weeks and considered "fully baked." This means you are more than welcome to come any time now. Your dad would like you to wait as long as possible so he can be ready (not sure what is going to change in three weeks to make him feel ready), but don't listen to him. I'm your mom and since I've been lugging you around for 9 months, I say you can come whenever you want (sooner is better BTW).
Although I would like you to be an April baby (and you would too if you knew that diamond would be your birthstone), I'm ready to kiss that sweet little face that we've only seen in the darkened ultrasound room. I'm ready to hold those little feet that have kicked my ribs and kept me up at night. I'm ready to dress you in all those teeny tiny clothes I've squealed over. I'm ready to meet the little person inside that I've fallen in love with already. I'm ready to be your mom.
