You lucky dog

Not the first thing I thought when we got home last night & the air conditioning wasn't working. So why is that good news for big brother? DAYCAMP! Two days in a row!...At least it worked out well for one of us.

Last night we stripped Fi down to her diaper, turned on the ceiling fan & set up two other fans to cool her off. Of course we couldn't swaddle her because it was hot as hell, so it made for a rough night, especially since she kept waking up pissed. I don't know if it's because she realized she wasn't swaddled, because she was sweating, or because she was thirsty from being hot. All this after she spent the entire day not napping. (She apparently functions a lot better on 7hrs of sleep than her mom does.)

I have to say she looked pretty cute in her pack n play, arms stretch out above her head & round baby belly for all to see (think cuter, baby version of a fat guy sleeping in his tighty whiteys)...it almost made the 87° house bearable. Almost.

and PS TR Lawing, in what world do you live in that a broken a/c in a house with an infant is not considered an emergency maintenance request? Next time I think we'll check into a hotel (with a pool. And minibar. And room service.) & deduct the cost from our rent check, assholes.

  1. Busted AC? That's never good - especially the first week of August in the South. I remember when we lost power to Alli's room a few months back - all the other rooms in the house were fine, but that meant no ceiling fan for her. You bet your @$$ that I had Skype up with my dad (the handyman) to get it fixed as fast as possible. And yes, I think that no AC in a house with an infant definitely qualifies as an emergency maintenance request.
