Well, she does have 2 stubborn parents

Or maybe I should have titled this "Why Cry-It-Out will not work for us." Or better yet "Why I suck as a mother."

Sunday I took Fi to the outlet mall to meet up with a fellow April baby (and judging by the googly eyes she kept making at him, future boyfriend) Grayson. I should have know this trip wasn't going to end well considering she refused to nap longer than 10 minute increments all weekend. Well I wore her in the carrier and she slept off & on for our excursion so I thought we were doing alright. The ride home started out OK, I figured Anneliese was doing so well that I would swing by Target on my way. BIG MISTAKE. She lasted through me picking up my odds & ends but 10 minutes into the 45 minute trip home, she started wailing to the point that she was gagging.

I stopped to feed her & change her & she was fine outside the car, but as soon as I started driving again she was back to screaming. It broke my heart, but I had to drive the rest of the 30min w/her crying. I thought eventually she would get tired, right? WRONG. So wrong. As soon as got home, papa Rob changed her into her PJs, swaddled her & she fell asleep in about 45 seconds. I felt so bad that I let her get that overtired without realizing it! Giant mom fail.

I learned 2 valuable lessons that day: do not leave the house if Fi has not napped more than an hour combined all day and do not underestimate the willpower & crying ability of a child who is a product of 2 very stubborn people.
