And you wonder why she doesn't sleep at school

I'm sure you're probably all getting tired of hearing about Fi's lack of sleep (all 6 of you that read this, that is), but this is the only place I have to complain about it so either keep reading or move along to the next post.

As you may know, the first 2 weeks of napping at school sucked. We're talking 2, maybe 3, 15 minute naps. Fi got a little better, she even had a day where she slept for a whole hour! Then, she got the stuffy nose and sleeping was impossible, or so I thought, because she stopping napping at all. I couldn't quite figure it out, I know she's tired. The last time I picked her up at the end of the day, they were feeding Anneliese her last bottle and Fi literally fell asleep as her teacher was patting her back to burp her.

And then the mystery was solved.

Yesterday at lunch, she fell asleep as we ate. Thankfully we were at my work, so I carried her down the hall to return her to school. She stayed asleep the whole time, I laid her in the crib and tiptoed towards the door. As I closed the door, I looked back one last time only to witness what I would describe as baby on baby sleep assault - Fi's crib neighbor stood up, looked over the side into Fi's crib, and screamed in her face. She screamed in my sleeping baby's face. I have never wanted to elbow a baby in the face until this moment.

Of course, I didn't (I mean, I would have had to wash my hands again & put on those blue booties to enter the infant room), but it would have been justified right??

  1. Ugh, no wonder poor Fi couldn't sleep - that's definitely what I call baby-on-baby assault. I don't know if I would have elbowed the other baby, but gone back in and moved them or something for sure. Of course, Alli's at the age now where she can stand up and scream back in the other kid's face. Fi will be there soon, and I have a feeling she won't be taking other kid's crap for long.
