One born every minute

This is a new show on Lifetime. Usually I stay away from that channel, mostly because papa Rob wants nothing to do w/it & will immediately leave to room if I turn it on, but I also don't care to watch movies about women being raped, abused, or taken advantage of. But I digress. I caught the preview for this and had to watch it. Plus, it's filmed at a hospital in Columbus.
I don't watch birthing shows now that I'm pregnant because, let's be honest, they freak the shit out of me. But this one was pretty good, a lot more lighthearted and good natured, and not nearly as dramatic as some of the shows on TLC or Discovery Health channel.
And then the last couple made me want to stab someone. The couple was very much in favor of "natural childbirth" (AKA hippies that refused all medical intervention, including monitoring their baby). Using the word natural for a med/intervention-free birth in general bothers me because I feel like it implies that anything else is "unnatural." Let's get something straight - to me, there is nothing "natural" about a 7-9lb watermelon being squeezed out of a very small space. So, like the author in A Bump in the Road says "Well, any birth is kind of natural, isn't it? I just plan on having the assistance of all the drugs the good Lord gave us."
And that's my birth plan.
