PSA regarding the TSA

So I read a ton of horror stories (including this one which took place at Charlotte-Douglas airport) about the new "enhanced pat-downs" that have been implemented so I feel like I need to clear some things up (or at least give my point of view). I already checked the websites and knew that both Charlotte and Cleveland airports had the new body scanners (which I was not going to go through) so I prepared myself for receiving a molestation.
First off, the body scanners were for those "randomly selected" participants so not everyone was sent through them (and I actually didn't even see anyone get selected to go through).
I set off the metal detector (thank you Joe's Jeans maternity jeans w/a metal brand tag) so I did have to have the pat-down. My TSA agent was as nice as could be, explained everything she was going to do before she did it AND again as she was performing the pat-down, and it was not sexual at all. It was a little humorous when she said "I need to run my hands on the inside of your pant waist" only for me to have to explain to her that my pant waist is up under my bra (again, thank you Joe's maternity jeans). I told her I'd be happy to roll my waist down so she could finish the check but she got a little flustered, worried that I was going to "be exposed" and didn't want me to feel uncomfortable. Listen lady, obviously someone has seen at least my naked stomach or I wouldn't be wearing these maternity pants in the first place.
After much deliberation with her supervisor, who I again explained to that I was more than happy rolling down my waist, she had me roll it down but was very adamant that I make sure my shirt was covering my belly so I wasn't exposed. The only embarrassing part? Of course I was across from the food court area and the businessmen eating their lunch got a kick out of the show. She finished up and was very apologetic that she even needed to perform the pat-down. I tried to reassure her that I really didn't mind and I completely understood she was doing her job.
Less than 5 minutes start to finish and I was out of there, not feeling like the victim of a sexual assault, but feeling pretty confident that my airplane companions weren't going to be blowing up their underpants on my plane.
