Real smooth

Spending most of my college days working in a maternity store, I thought the most insulting thing was to be asked if you're pregnant. Or even worse, when you're due. But most of those comments were innocent enough and just came from pregnant women looking to commiserate with someone else while they shopped. What's far worse is when someone uses pregnancy as an insult. Here's a note to anyone contemplating this: if you're going to make a wisecrack about someone looking pregnant as an insult, be prepared because when they tell you they are indeed pregnant, you're going to look like a jackass. Let me paint the picture for you

Janitor: Gena, you're looking pregnant in those clothes. What are those, maternity clothes? That's what happens when you stop working out.
Me: Yeah, I am pregnant and I am wearing maternity clothes, so looking pregnant is probably going to happen.
Janitor: Oh...really?
Me: Uh, yeah. You really didn't know? So you were really just trying to call me fat, huh? Niiice.

As a side note, ever notice you never see a pregnant woman on trial? I'm pretty sure there's a reason for that, no jury in their right mind would convict her.
