Boss #3 came back yesterday and I finally had to tell him because the way I'm expanding, I'm not sure I can keep it a secret much longer. Plus Bosses 1 & 2 are so excited, I'm not sure either of them could keep it a secret either. So I told him I was considering taking his Parenting class this fall. He was pretty nonchalant about it, so I realized he wasn't picking up on my subtleties and I was going to have to say it out loud. So I told him "yeah, Rob & I are having a baby." Why I threw Rob under the bus and said his name first, I have no idea. It's not like he's carrying the baby, but it made it easier to say out loud and it just flew out of my mouth that way.
First he congratulated me, then he said [wait for it] "you know, I came in this morning and took one look at you and I said to myself 'she's pregnant' and I'm not even sure why I thought that." Boss fail. Then I think it dawned on him that pregnancy=maternity leave and I could see the mood change when I'm sure he was considering that I may not come back. But, let's face it, I damn near had a mental breakdown when I was unemployed for 3 months, I don't foresee me being able to handle being a stay at home mom.
He will adjust as will you, give your self time to consider what you want. only you can decide what is best for you and the family (well Rob can chime in). You have time take care of yourself.
