Lucky number 7

Anneliese,

You're seven whole months old! When we went to the doctor the week before last, I saw a brand new baby and I asked your dad, "was Anneliese ever that little?" It just seems so hard to imagine. Looking back at pictures of you when you were born, you don't even look like the same little girl.

So what's new for you? Although this isn't a new development, you are so vocal. You just love talking more and more. Motorboating, blowing raspberries, babbling. You don't care, if you are awake, your mouth just has to be moving.

Our little social butterfly, you are going through your first stranger anxiety phase. You hang out in my office until 9, when I take you down to school, and usually you love talking to all the people that stop by to see you. Now, if you are making noise & someone comes to visit, you immediately stop whatever it is that you're doing and just stare at them. You don't cry, but you sure aren't giving them any of your usual Fi charm!

Speaking of charm, you sure know how to turn it on when you want, but you are perfectly content to hang out by yourself and play. When the moms at work see you hanging out in my office, they're quick to remind me what a good baby you are & how great it is that you can play by yourself.

You have a tooth! Well, it's still just a haff-toof (as I like to refer to it), but it's definitely there.

You're crawling! You still have to be highly motivated to get moving (usually going after something we're trying to keep out of your reach, like dad's cell phone, my flip flops, or big brother's stuffed pig). And when we pick you up and put you back on your playmat, you get pissed! You worked hard to get wherever it is that you're going, how dare we put you back at square one?!

I know I say it every month, but I can't believe it keeps happening. It amazes me that every month I love you more. I love that you're here & I love that you're ours.
