What's that supposed to mean?

Three times this week I've been told "wow, you're starting to look pregnant." I realize it's meant as a compliment (at least that's the way I'm interpreting it so if you meant otherwise, keep your trap shut) but what exactly does that mean? And what did I look like before? (BTW, that's rhetorical so please don't answer)
