When we first talked about having kids I couldn't imagine having a daughter. I'm not girly. I grew up with brothers, I cut my hair (and the cat's) because I wanted a boy's haircut. I didn't stop biting my nails until I was 25 years old. I didn't have my first pedicure until I got engaged.
And then Fi came and all my worries about not being feminine enough to teach her faded. This was my daughter. I had a daughter and nothing else mattered. She is my most beautiful gift.
